Pod Nauseam Episode 18: The Assassination of Pod Nauseam by the Coward Toben’s Broken PC

Pod Nauseam talks Emerald City Comic Con, the Veronica Mars movie, True Detective’s finale and Facebook’s purchase of Oculus VR.

Download episode

Toben, Seth and Danny finally reunite after several delays, only to be smacked with a less than ideal recording situation. Despite the odds, they managed to discuss Seth’s adventures at Emerald City Comic Con, Facebook’s acquisition of Oculus VR, True Detective’s season finale and the Veronica Mars movie. Audio quality is a little wonky at times – sorry about that.

Spoiler warning: Veronica Mars, True Detective, Breaking Bad

Pod Nauseam Episode 16: True Top Cops

Diving into HBO’s True Detective, RoboCop, The Wolf Among Us, and touring mystery houses

Download episode

Weeks of badgering have finally paid off - Danny successfully got Toben to check out the new HBO series True Detective. Guess what? It’s pretty (very) good. After months of waiting, we got our hands on the second act of Telltale Games’ episodic game The Wolf Among Us and we’re stoked to talk about it (spoilers everywhere). If the remake of Robocop isn’t an abomination, does that mean it’s good - or were expectations so low that it was bound to exceed them? Also, Danny visited an insane mansion built by a woman inspired by spirits, and Toben got to shake hands with a MMA legend.

Broken Age, Lovecraft-inspired tabletop games, Her and Inside Llewyn Davis, and returning to Community.

Toben, Danny and Seth are back from the holidays to share about all the recreational activities they took part in. Seth and Toben saw a handful of movies, from Her to The Hobbit, and got to check out Double Fine’s new point-and-click adventure game Broken Age. Danny gives us a rundown on how Vizio has made a name for itself in TV sales among more familiar brands. Toben fell into a pit of H.P. Lovecraft -inspired tabletop games, and we all happily welcome Community’s return to form.

Pod Nauseam Episode 14: Things We Said in 2013

Taking a look back at the past year of Pod Nauseam.

Download episode

With 2013 drawing to a close, what better time than to take a moment and look back over the past year of episodes of Pod Nauseam? Is that just another way to say “hey, here’s a clip show?” Yes…yes, it is. Comic convention jitters, Iron Man 3, Star Trek love and rage,  Tomb Raider, Kaiju and more - we sure said a lot of words about things this year. Thanks so much for listening to our weird conversations - we’ll do it again in 2014.

Pod Nauseam Episode 13: Team Neither

Discussing The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Wonder Woman, lady action heroes, and the passing of Paul Walker.

Download episode

With half of the Pod Nauseam gang scattered to the wind, Toben and Danny invite friend of the show Grace on to help sort out our feelings about The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (spoilers included). Join us as we talk about improvements it made over the first film, where it falls short, why Jennifer Lawrence is a boss, and what we really think about Peeta and Gale.

Wonder Woman will finally appear in a major motion picture…but will she be playing second or third fiddle? We talk about the casting of Gal Gadot as the iconic superheroine and whether a supporting role is fitting for the film debut of such an important comic character.

In a brief, somber moment, we reflect on the passing of Paul Walker, the sometimes weird reactions people have to celebrity deaths and what happens to the Fast and Furious franchise.

It’s a revolving door of guests on this episode of Pod Nauseam. Danny and Toben kick things off with reflections on the first episode of Telltale Games’ The Wolf Among Us. Later on, friend of the show Grace pops in to chat about Thor: The Dark World and argue with Toben about Tom Hiddleston.

Seth finally awakes from his Odin-sleep to add his two cents about a few topics, and then we all talk about if and when we’ll burn out on big-budget superhero movies and AAA video games. Danny played Batman: Arkham Origins and we can’t tell if he liked it or not. Also, Toben finally got caught up on season 3 of Game of Thrones and just wants the dragons to kill everyone.

Spoilers for: Thor: The Dark World, Game of Thrones, Fables, The Wolf Among Us.
